Socrates is mortal
A classic of logic classes, “Socrates is mortal” is a thesis defended by two linked premises. That means P1 alone cannot support¬ the thesis, nor P2 alone. They must therefore be linked for the reasoning to make sense. (since Aristotle, logic is a branch of philosophy.)
